We're excited for our next challenge as part of our SRC Series! If you don’t know, the SRC Series is a lineup of challenges we're rolling out on a semi-regular basis, funded entirely by Speedrun.com. SRC Series challenges are designed to be fun and engaging, with a focus on community involvement. The prize bounties are smaller compared to sponsored challenges, providing a break from the stress of high-stakes competition! We hope SRC Series challenges will continue to bring speedrunners together from all kinds of communities to discover new games and meet new people.

For our next challenge, we've selected **Poppy Playtime**! If you're unfamiliar, Poppy Playtime is a Puzzle Horror currently in development (with 3 chapters available) by Mob Entertainment.

Here’s everything you’ll want to know heading into the challenge:

**Starting Date:** April 14th, 2024

**Duration:** 10 days, until 11:59PM UTC April 24th, 2024

## **Prize Distribution:**

The $500 prize pool will be distributed among the top performers for fastest completion time in the Any% category. The distribution is as follows:

**1st place** - $250

**2nd place** - $150

**3rd place** - $100

## **Participation Prizes:**

We are bringing back participation prizes for the second challenge in a row!

First of all, any runner who submits any runs to the Poppy Playtime challenge will receive **one month** of SRC Supporter, if you haven’t heard of Supporter before you may learn more about it [here](https://www.speedrun.com/supporter)!

Secondly, any challenge participants will be awarded with the title **PLAYTOY**. If you’re unfamiliar with Titles, they are a unique descriptor that goes alongside your username on your profile (as well as profile popovers) which can (as of right now) only be acquired by participating in Challenges right here on SRC. Hey everyone! A few days ago during the SRC Series ULTRAKILL Speedrun Challenge announcement we mentioned that we were introducing two new participation prizes for *everyone* who submits a run to the challenge. The first participation prize is one month of SRC Supporter, but now let’s get into the previously unrevealed prize.Without any more deliberation, I would like to introduce titles!

# Titles

These are the second part of the participation prizes! By participating in a challenge, you will get a unique “title” to display next to your username. We’ve retroactively given out titles for any participants in the Rocket Racing and Ghostrunner speedrun challenges, and if you are interested in getting another - the title for this challenge is “ULTRA”!

In the future, we are looking to add lots more titles for challenge participants and perhaps even for other activities on the site so stay tuned for that! As of the writing of this post, the ULTRAKILL Speedrun Challenge is still currently live which means you can claim your “ULTRA” title just by submitting any run that fulfills the challenge requirements before the deadline on March 20th, 2024 :)

## The Game

For our next challenge, we've selected ULTRAKILL! If you're unfamiliar, ULTRAKILL is an FPS currently in development (available through early access) by Arsi “Hakita” Patala, and published by New Blood Interactive. ULTRAKILL currently has the highest active player count on Speedrun.com, with a whopping 1,266 speedrunners who’ve recently submitted runs. It’s certainly no surprise how many runners are attracted to ULTRAKILL, considering the pure speed and efficiency of its combat routing.

Here’s everything you’ll want to know heading into the challenge:

**Starting Date:** March 10th, 2024

**Duration:** 10 days, until 11:59PM UTC March 20th, 2024

## **Prize Distribution:**

SRC Series: Rocket Racing Expert Tracks Challenge

Attention runners and racers! We're thrilled to unveil the first challenge as part of what we are calling the SRC Series! The SRC Series is a lineup of challenges we're rolling out on a semi-regular basis, funded entirely by Speedrun.com. SRC Series challenges are designed to be fun and engaging, with a focus on community involvement. The prize bounties are smaller compared to sponsored challenges, providing a  break from the stress of high-stakes competition! We hope SRC Series challenges will bring speedrunners together from all kinds of communities to discover new games and meet new people.

For our first challenge, we've selected Rocket Racing! If you're unfamiliar, Rocket Racing is an arcade style racing game developed in collaboration with Psyonix and parent company Epic Games - taking heavy influence from Rocket League and implementing all kinds of aerial movement with track designs that force you to get crafty with your vehicle.

Here’s everything you’ll want to know heading into the challenge:

**Starting Date:** February 15th, 2024

To play Rocket Racing, you'll want to install Fortnite from within the Epic Games Launcher. From inside Fortnite, you'll be able to access Rocket Racing as one of the official game modes.

## Category:

Open to players aged 18 and above worldwide, with the following exceptions: North Korea, Syria, Sudan, Cuba, and Venezuela.

## Category:

The featured category in this challenge will be “Pit of Eternal Sands”. This category has you run through the first 4 quests in the game, ending in a fairly significant plot point such that the category still feels whole & meaningful.

As far as rules go, the ruleset will be following a similar ruleset to what you might consider "No Major Glitches." If you would like to know more specifics, please refer to the category rules on the challenge leaderboard.

As always, some updates may have to be made to the ruleset depending on the development of the route over the coming weeks - but the spirit of the category will remain the same. Any updates to the ruleset will be communicated to participants as they are made.

## Challenges

In case you aren’t aware of what a challenge is in the context of Speedrun.com, a Challenge leaderboard functions similarly to the regular leaderboards you're already familiar with. However, we've made a few layout adjustments to cater to the time-sensitive nature of challenges and the inclusion of prize pools.

We always aim to avoid any undue pressure on the associated moderation team with whatever game is the focus of the challenge - so to ensure a smooth process, all runs submitted to the challenge leaderboard will be screened and verified by either SRC staff or Prince of Persia moderation team members *volunteering for the challenge specifically*. After the challenge concludes, SRC staff will collaborate with the Prince of Persia moderation team to discuss the potential merging of challenge runs into the regular leaderboard once the moratorium period expires, respecting the mod team's preferences.

Today MoistCritikal announced his fourth $10,000 speedrunning challenge, this time featuring [Escape From Lavender Island (2023)](/efli). Fitting with the theme of featuring obscure games with a limited speedrunning history, the game previously had [only one run](/efli/runs/y9ko81kz) on Speedrun.com.
